How safe is it?

Fuerteventura is said to be very safe and has a low crime rate, but tourists shouldn’t let their guard down. Wear less jewelry or any other eye-catching accessory, blend in with the crowd, and enjoy whatever activities you choose.

What’s the weather like?

Fuerteventura weather is relatively warm all year round. Yes, you read that right! It’s even warm during the winter –  although you might get rainfall sometimes, there’s still a high chance you’ll get some sun too!

So, whether you have sensitive skin or not, do not forget to bring one or two sunscreen tubes. You never know when you might need one! Sunglasses are also a necessity. It gets windy sometimes, too, and this wind carries some sand.

This would be uncomfortable for people with breathing problems or even sunbathers. The best time to visit is between June and September when you can get all the sun you want and minimal rainfall.

What about the beaches?

Yes, there are a million things to do in Fuerteventura, but wouldn’t it be heartbreaking not to have any beaches around to soak up all the sunny goodness?

It’s a good thing we don’t have to worry about that because Fuerteventura has over 140 beaches! That’s right!.

Tourist favorites include beaches like La Concha, Playa de Sotavento, and Playa Grande! You can scuba dive, surf, or fish in the waters.

Picture-perfect reefs and volcanic mountains make the view a hundred and twenty percent more attractive! You could also walk on the sand or ride on horses or camels.

There are a bunch of fun activities on the beaches.

 What to eat

One thing about the Majoreros (people of Fuerteventura) is that they don’t play around with goat meat dishes. These goats have become symbols of Fuerteventura themselves.

Stews and sauces are made with goat meat and sometimes mixed with vegetables. The dishes, they say, are pretty tasty! Frangollo is another sweet drink made with goat milk; it’s usually mixed with lemon, cinnamon, and other tart ingredients to create delicious desserts.

El Gofio is another Fuerteventura favorite. Some corn flour can be kneaded to make snacks combined with different dishes to enhance their tastes.

Just as goats have become a symbolic delicacy in Fuerteventura, seafood is no less a favorite of the locals!

So many unique dishes in Fuerteventura will appease your taste buds.

The people of Fuerteventura, the ‘Majoreros’, are also known to be kind and accommodating, so if you ever decide to visit, you can rest assured that you’ll be well-catered for.
